- 1/2 pound turkey bacon (chopped and cooked crisp)
- 4 cups broccoli (chopped, about 1 head)
- 4 cups cauliflower (chopped, about 1 head)
- 3/4 cup raisins (preferably golden)
- 1/2 cup finely diced red onion
- 1/3 cup sunflower seeds (salted)
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup cheese crumbles
Instructions
- In a heavy-bottomed pan or cast iron skillet, cook the chopped turkey bacon until it is crispy.
- While the turkey bacon is cooking, chop the broccoli and cauliflower into small florets and finely dice the red onion.
- In a large mixing bowl, add all prepared salad ingredients including broccoli, cauliflower, onions, sunflower seeds, raisins, and turkey bacon.
- In a separate bowl, combine sugar and salt with vinegar. Whisk in mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth.
- Pour the dressing over salad ingredients and toss everything well to ensure all vegetables are evenly coated with dressing.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve to allow flavors to meld together.
