Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for brownie batter)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for cookie dough)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for cookie dough)
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg (for cookie dough)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cookie dough)
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (for cookie dough)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (for cookie dough)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter for the brownie batter. Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until combined. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt; mix until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for the cookie dough until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Gradually add flour, baking soda, and salt; fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Pour brownie batter into the prepared dish and spread evenly. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough on top and gently press down to create a marbled effect.
  5. Bake for 30–35 minutes until edges are set but the center remains slightly gooey. Cool completely in the dish before cutting into squares.
