- 2 cups sugar
- 1¾ cups flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1½ teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 6 ounces chocolate pudding mix
- 2 cups whole milk (for pudding)
- 1½ cups unsalted butter (for frosting)
- 6 cups powdered sugar
- 26 Oreo cookies, crushed into crumbs
- 10 ounces pectin-based gummy candies
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 baking pan.
- In a stand mixer, combine sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt on low speed.
- In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract; add to dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Gradually stir in hot coffee.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
- Prepare the pudding by whisking together pudding mix and milk; let sit for about 5 minutes until thickened. Spread over the cooled cake and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- For the frosting, melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in cocoa powder until smooth. Cool slightly then add to stand mixer with powdered sugar and milk; mix until smooth.
- Spread frosting over the chilled pudding layer and garnish with crushed Oreo cookies.
