- 6 day-old croissants
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups whole milk (or almond milk)
- 5 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
- Fresh berries or whipped cream (optional toppings)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cut the croissants into bite-sized pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt until well combined; stir in half of the chocolate chips.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the croissant pieces, pour half the custard over them, sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips, add the rest of the croissant pieces, and pour over any remaining custard.
- Bake for about 50 minutes or until golden brown and set in the center.
- Allow cooling slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving warm.
