Description

Beef and Broccoli is a classic dish that brings the flavors of Chinese cuisine to your home kitchen. This quick and easy recipe features tender flank steak stir-fried with crisp broccoli in a savory soy sauce, making it perfect for busy weeknights or cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)
  • Water (as needed for steaming)

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef against the grain into thin strips. Chop broccoli into bite-sized florets and mince garlic and ginger.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch. Marinate the beef in this mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook marinated beef in batches until browned; remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add broccoli and a splash of water to steam until bright green and tender-crisp.
  5. Return beef to the skillet with broccoli, pour any remaining marinade over everything, and stir well to combine for about two minutes.
  6. Serve hot over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds or sliced green onions if desired.
