  • 1 large flank steak (about 3 pounds)
  • 1/3 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp ground chipotle chile powder

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine lime juice, olive oil, cumin, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, soy sauce, and chipotle powder to create the marinade.
  2. Place the flank steak in a Ziploc bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal tightly and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or up to 24 hours.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat about 30 minutes before grilling.
  4. Remove steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  5. Grill for approximately 4-5 minutes per side for medium rare or about 6 minutes per side for medium doneness.
  6. Let the steak rest for about 5 minutes before slicing against the grain.
