  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup salted butter (for frosting), softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • Orange food coloring (optional)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the vanilla extract and egg until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the flour and baking powder, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan and bake for 14-16 minutes or until lightly golden at the edges. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
  5. For the frosting, beat together softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream until smooth peaks form. Add orange food coloring if desired.
  6. Frost cooled cookie bars and decorate with sprinkles before cutting into squares.
