Ingredients
- 1 cup short-grain white rice
- 1¼ cups water
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 4 roasted nori sheets
- 1 cup imitation crab (or real crab meat)
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 1 small cucumber, cut into thin strips
- 2 tbsp spicy mayo (mayo + sriracha)
- ½ cup toasted panko breadcrumbs or French fried onions
Instructions
- Rinse rice under cold water until clear. Cook with water until tender.
- Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a saucepan over low heat until dissolved. Fold into warm rice and cool.
- Set up your rolling station with a bamboo mat wrapped in plastic.
- Lay nori on the mat, spread rice evenly, flip so rice faces down, then add crab, avocado, cucumber, and any optional ingredients.
- Roll tightly using the mat to shape the sushi; seal edges with water.
- Brush with spicy mayo or eel sauce and sprinkle toppings on top before slicing into pieces.
