Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs

Instructions

  1. Cook the fettuccine: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. Sauté the shrimp: In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute). Add shrimp, cooking until pink (about 3 minutes per side).
  3. Make the sauce: Lower heat and pour in heavy cream, stirring continuously. Gradually add Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  4. Combine: Add drained fettuccine to the skillet with shrimp and sauce. Toss well, adding reserved pasta water as needed for desired consistency.
  5. Season: Sprinkle salt, pepper, and dried herbs over the dish. Toss again before serving.
  6. Serve: Plate the Shrimp Alfredo and garnish with extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
