This hearty dish features juicy beef patties smothered in a rich, savory gravy made with fresh mushrooms and sweet onions. Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium sweet onion, finely chopped
  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, half of the onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until just combined. Shape into four patties.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear patties for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. Set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté remaining onions and mushrooms until softened. Sprinkle flour over them and stir well.
  4. Gradually add beef broth while whisking to avoid lumps. Stir in soy sauce; cook until thickened.
  5. Return patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer on low for about 10 minutes.
  6. Serve steaks topped with mushroom gravy alongside mashed potatoes or veggies.
