  • 2 and 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Blend the rolled oats into a coarse flour and mix it into the dough.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips gently until evenly distributed.
  8. Scoop dough onto prepared sheets, spacing them apart.
  9. Bake for 9-10 minutes or until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  10. Reshape cookies while warm if necessary and cool on wire racks.
