Ingredients

  • 4 black tea bags or 4 tsp loose leaf
  • 1 large orange (for zest and juice)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • Optional: 2 star anises
  • Honey or sugar (to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange slices (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a saucepan and zest the orange.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and steep the tea bags, cinnamon sticks, orange zest, and optional star anise for 5 to 8 minutes.
  3. Juice the orange while the tea steeps. Remove tea bags and strain the mixture into another container.
  4. Stir in freshly squeezed orange juice and sweeten to taste with honey or sugar.
  5. Allow to cool to room temperature before refrigerating until chilled.
