  • 4 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • ¼ cup milk (adjust for consistency; for frosting)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat peanut butter and softened butter until smooth. Gradually mix in granulated sugar and eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
  4. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the peanut butter mixture until just combined.
  5. Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool before frosting.
  6. For frosting, mix peanut butter and softened butter until smooth; add powdered sugar and milk to reach desired consistency.
  7. Assemble the cake by layering with jelly and frosting.
