Ingredients
- 8 oz flank, skirt, or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 2 packs (7 oz each) cooked or frozen udon noodles
- 1 tbsp vegetable or avocado oil
- ½ small onion, thinly sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 3 tbsp water (slurry)
- 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- ½ tsp sesame oil
Instructions
- Slice the beef against the grain and season with salt and pepper. Optionally toss with soy sauce and cornstarch.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, black pepper, sesame oil, and cornstarch slurry; set aside.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef until browned; remove from the pan.
- In the same skillet, sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
- Add udon noodles and sauce; toss to combine and heat through for about 2–3 minutes.
- Return beef to the skillet; mix well until everything is hot and coated in sauce.
