  • 4.2 oz powdered sugar
  • 2.5 tbsp strawberry puree
  • 1 tsp butter (for filling)
  • 1 fl oz milk
  • 0.5 tsp lemon juice
  • 6 oz strawberry jam

Instructions

  1. Cream the unsalted butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy; add vanilla.
  2. Gradually mix in the flour and salt until combined; avoid overmixing.
  3. Chill the dough wrapped in plastic wrap for about 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out chilled dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thick and cut out heart shapes.
  5. Bake cookies for about 10 minutes until edges are lightly golden; cool on a wire rack.
  6. Mix powdered sugar, strawberry puree, butter, milk, and lemon juice to create the filling.
  7. Spread strawberry jam on half of the cooled cookies and sandwich them with the other halves.
