  • 1 large onion
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 slice bread (crusts removed, crumbled)
  • 2.75 tsp salt
  • 2.25 tsp ground cumin
  • 2.25 tsp paprika
  • 1 lemon (zested and juiced)
  • 6 large garlic cloves
  • 1/4 cup fresh oregano
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1.5 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 Persian cucumbers
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3.5 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine grated onion, milk, crumbled bread, ground beef, salt, cumin, paprika, lemon zest, minced garlic, oregano, parsley, mint, eggs, olive oil, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into golf-sized balls and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 10 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
  5. For the yogurt sauce: Mix yogurt with grated cucumbers, dill, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Serve meatballs warm with yogurt sauce on the side.
